BAT Dance Company

BAT Dance Company is the professional performing arts branch of DanceLab Dansens Hus, creating contemporary stage productions that combine dance, theatre, music and interdisciplinary performance. Based in Tromsø, BAT develops original works rooted in artistic experimentation, social reflection and collaboration across cultures and disciplines.

The company works with both established and emerging artists, creating productions that range from intimate immersive performances to larger ensemble works presented in theatres, festivals and alternative spaces. BAT’s artistic approach emphasizes physical storytelling, strong visual atmospheres and themes connected to identity, human relationships, society and the Arctic context.

Alongside professional productions, BAT actively engages with local communities through workshops, outreach activities and inclusive artistic processes, building connections between professional performing arts and public participation.
